Family

Marianne has really enjoyed all the love she has gotten from her family! In updating this post I realized that we are missing pictures good pictures of some of you while you were with her. I would love to have them so please email them to me if you can. We wish we had pictures of Marianne with all of our family but it is hard when we live so far away. We are looking forward to the day when Marianne will get to meet you!

Growing Up!

A few weeks ago Marianne had her 1 month doctor appointment. Everything checked out great. She weighed 7 lbs. and 12 oz. and she measured 21.5 inches long! She has officially grown out of most of her newborn sized pajamas because she is too long for them. She still wears the newborn diapers and most newborn clothes that don't have the feet attached.

The picture below is Marianne napping after coming home from the doctor. She had to get a shot which is why she has the band-aid. I always thought I would be the strong mama who didn't get upset when her child got shots. But seeing her cry in pain as the nurse gave her the shot really broke my heart! It was so sad and I shed a little tear.

Braves Game

We took Marianne to her first Braves game on her 4 week birthday. We thought for sure she would be the youngest person there but we met a 3 week old baby about half way through the game! Chris said it didn't get much better than sitting at a Braves game watching them win with his "girls".

Firsts

When you are only 4 weeks old you have a lot of "firsts." It is amazing how many things Marianne gets to do for the first time and she sleeps through most of them. Here are a few pictures of some of those times:

This is Marianne's first car ride on her way home from the hospital.

The car seat makes her look so small!

Coming home for the first time.

One of the first "tummy times" Marianne had!

She likes kicking her legs and moving her head around.

She has even reached for some toys!

This was Marianne before going on her first walk.

We walked around the block to buy milkshakes from Flip!

Marianne got all dressed up for her first lunch date with her dad. He took her to Noon. She slept through most of it but I think they both had a great time and hopefully they will have many more father daughter dates!

Why the treehouse name?

We are so blessed as a family! One of our incredible blessings is our great house. There are so many things to love about it but one of our favorites is the way it sits on the lot. From the back of the house you look out into the trees. Chris has always said it is like living in a tree house. I appreciated this about our house before but what has made me love it even more is how much Marianne seems to like the view. She turns her head to look out the window any time she gets the chance. When thinking about starting a blog and wanting to name it something that didn't have our names in the title this is what we settled on. We hope you enjoy "our tree house views"!
