New Stroller

We love the stroller we have because it is perfect for taking Marianne around in her car seat. I don't know what I would do without it! One thing it is not so perfect for is walking around the terribly paved streets and sidewalks of our neighborhood. I have been wanting to buy our outdoor stroller for a while so that the stroller we have will last longer. This weekend we are going on a retreat with our church and we decided that an outdoor stroller would be better for where we are going. After finally tracking down the stroller we wanted at a bike shop we tested it out. Marianne loved sitting in it but I did not like strolling her on the bumpy streets so loosely strapped in so now we have the car seat attachment so she can stroll in her car seat. I wanted to share this because I just love how happy and little she looks in the seat!

Marianne is starting to smile so much more often and she laughs a lot too! I don't have any good recent pictures of her smiling so these are a little old but they are still sweet.

Busy Week

Marianne has really been on the go this week! On Wednesday we went to Bible study where she went to the nursery for the first time even though it was only for about an hour.

On Thursday she had her 2 month check up. She weighed 9lbs. 2 oz. and was 22 1/2 inches long which means she is tall and skinny! The doctor said she is doing great but they did give her two shots and a vaccine that she had to take orally. (Marianne was very brave and only cried for a minute and I was very brave and did not cry at all!)

On Friday we went with our friends Kim, Zach, and Ellie to the Botanical Gardens. We had a great time walking around and enjoyed a picnic in the shade. Marianne slept through the whole thing but I made the most of the beautiful flowers, the nice weather, and the encouraging conversation!

On Saturday Marianne had a full day of football. After watching the Gamecocks beat the Bulldogs we went to a birthday/football watching party in the evening. Marianne was a great sport and was the most popular guest. Everyone loved her!

On Sunday we went to a special cookout in honor of Marianne and another baby who was born a few months before her with a bunch of people from Chris' work. Once again Marianne stole everyone's heart! We already think she is great but it is always good fun to hear that other people think so too!

Two Months

Marianne is two months old today! It is hard to believe how fast time flies. In a way it seems like she has been here forever but in another way it seems like just yesterday we were driving to the hospital!

I think she grows every day and it really seemed true when we left Marianne home with her "abuelita" this weekend while we went to a wedding in Maine. She seemed so much bigger after only 3 days! We had a great time in a beautiful place but we were glad to get home.

We attended a cookout on Saturday at a park in Cape Elizabeth. When we got there we realized we had visited this park and this lighthouse on our honeymoon seven years ago!

Everything about the wedding was perfect! Here are the bride and groom cutting the home-made wild Maine blueberry pies they had instead of a cake! Yum!

Visitors

Last Friday our friend Raluca and her daughter Alina stayed at our house. Brave woman that she is, Raluca was traveling from Lexington to Nashville all alone with a tottler while also being pregnant. It was great to spend some time with her and it was fun to see how much Alina has grown up since we saw her last. Alina liked Marianne and had fun looking at her!
